How do you spend your days?
I spend my days taking care of people’s trees and managing a crew of arborists for Davey Tree Company. When I’m not working I spend my time with my family doing anything outdoors. My kids are in several sports and other activities and we like to watch them do what they love. As a family we like to hunt, camp, hike and do whatever we can together.
What are your ties to McHenry County?
My family moved to Harvard when I was six months old and have been around the same area for my entire life except for the four years I spent studying Urban Forestry at University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. I still try and stay involved with the College of Natural Resources at UWSP by volunteering to help teach chainsaw classes and tree climbing classes when the opportunities come up. This helps me stay current and connected with the ever-changing tree care industry.
Why did you decide to join the TLC board?
When I was asked to join the board, it seemed like a good fit because it aligns with my belief in trying to preserve the dwindling lands and open spaces we have as well as have a positive impact on the environment. The group of people that involve themselves in TLC’s workdays are exactly the types that I admire.
