Holian has been promoting the work of TLC’s volunteers as well the importance of nature and open spaces in McHenry County through social media. “I’ve really enjoyed learning about the many ways social media is used to reach and grow a nonprofit audience,” says Holian.
“This is the first time The Land Conservancy has offered a social media scholarship,” says Lisa Haderlein, TLC’s executive director. She adds, “We were happy to find a local college student who could use social media to connect more people with The Land Conservancy’s mission of preserving land forever.”
Holian is entering her senior year at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she is pursuing degrees in both Communication and Creative Writing. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in communications or public relations. Thank you, Kiersten!
