Celebrate 30 Years of TLC! Join your friends and fellow TLC members for a virtual celebration and gathering.
Gather virtually with friends, learn about the volunteers and partners who work to preserve and restore land in McHenry County, and be inspired by Cindy Crosby’s presentation, The Tallgrass Prairie: Grocery Store, Apothecary and Love Shop.
Throughout Illinois’ history, people have used the prairie as grocery store, pharmacy, art supply shop and even a place to find love potions! Discover the charming stories behind these rugged tallgrass plants and some of their beauty and utility in the home garden today.

Proceeds from TLC's 2021 Virtual Annual Celebration will benefit the Conservation Leader Internship Program (CLIP), a paid summer internship experience, designed to empower individuals within traditionally underserved communities who aspire to pursue a career in the field of conservation.
TLC will be the first land trust in the state to launch a program specifically designed to empower youth as leaders in conservation. Make an impact with your ticket purchase or donation today!

No brunch? No problem!
Each ticket includes a fresh, delicious grazing box for one (optional) from Fork-It Foods in Crystal Lake, delivered to your door in McHenry County and nearby areas. Your grazing box will include an assortment of cheese, meats, fruits, vegetables, olives, breads, crackers, homemade dips and spreads, and sweets to provide a unique and amazing eating experience. Special dietary needs (vegetarian, etc.) can be accommodated.
No table? No problem!
Purchase a virtual breakout room for $50 (up to eight people) and visit with friends before the program starts. Rooms will open at 11:15. All rooms will close and the guests will join the main program promptly at noon.
Date: Sunday, Jan. 31, Noon-2:00 p.m.
Tickets: $50, includes Fork-it Foods grazing box delivered to your door in McHenry County and a packet of native plant seed.
Price is $70 delivered outside of McHenry County.
Note: Deadline to order a ticket and receive a grazing box is Thursday, Jan. 21 at midnight.
Keynote speaker: Cindy Crosby
Cindy Crosby is the author, compiler or contributor to more than 20 books. Her most recent book is Chasing Dragonflies: A Natural, Cultural, and Personal History (Northwestern University Press, 2020). Cindy has a master’s degree in natural resources and is a Master Gardener and a natural history instructor for the Illinois Master Naturalist’s program. She is a steward for the Schulenberg Prairie at The Morton Arboretum and at Nachusa Grasslands in Franklin Grove, IL. When she’s not out working in her garden, chasing dragonflies or kayaking Illinois’ rivers, she speaks and teaches on natural history topics.
