Featured Property: Ken & Margee Pieper
Ken and Margee Pieper have lived on their 40 acre property for over 20 years and became certified Conservation@Home in 2015.
Their dedication towards certifying their yard into a haven for native plants, pollinators, and bats has resulted in the beautiful transformation of their land. The Piepers’ live close to the Irish Oaks Savanna property we are working to restore. Margee’s love of nature bloomed from a young age as a Girl Scout. She also has a degree in Outdoor Education, and enjoys plant identification. Their favorite native plants on their property include Shooting Star plants and sedges. The Piepers’ are also the owners of Crane Hollow, a bed and breakfast on their property. They said that guests enjoy the peaceful environment, and the land they lovingly restored.
