Art of the Land - September 21-22
The land has a way of inspiring us to create, to preserve, and to rejoice. TLC's Art of the Land benefit & art show grew out of the natural affinity between artists inspired by the land, and TLC, an organization working to ensure the land remains an inspiration forever! Tickets are just $20, and can be purchased by clicking here.
Whether or not you've attended TLC's Fall Fundraiser in the past, you don't want to miss the event this year!
The art show & benefit features the work of over 100 talented artists, artisans and photographers from the area - some favorites from last year, and many new faces.
Friday night, the 21st, will include the 3rd Annual "Voices of the Land," a coffeehouse-style showcase of poetry, short videos, original music and storytelling by local talent. "Voices" is being organized and emcee'd by Jim May, co-founder of the Illinois Storytelling Festival. Jim has a unique program planned that includes storytelling, poetry and music by local talent. A special program this year will be the "Story of Fleming Road" as told by some of the residents who helped ensure the unique and scenic roadway would be preserved in its current footprint forever.
Talented guitarist Ed Hall will perform Friday night, and Saturday night will include a special musical guest to be announced soon!
