The purpose of Art of the Land is to raise awareness of The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) and the work it does. TLC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and preservation of our most valuable and threatened heritage-our McHenry County landscape. TLC’s mission is to preserve natural, agricultural and scenic land in perpetuity in and around McHenry County by working with individuals, communities and other partners. TLC has preserved over 2,100 acres within McHenry County.
Art of the Land is TLC's major fundraising event of the year, and monies raised help support land conservation here in McHenry County. All art considered for this event must be consistent with the theme of the event:
“Art that reflects or is inspired by the local landscape and all it provides.”
Art of the Land, is on September 23 & 24, 2016 from 6:30 -10 pm at the Starline Factory, Front St., Harvard.
Artists & artisans who are inspired by the local landscape and all that it provides will be featured--original artwork, ceramics & glass, jewelry, wood art, weaving & fiber art, basketry and photography. TLC retains 30% of all art sales.

NEW FORMAT THIS YEAR: Friday attendees will pay a premium admission this year, which will include special presentations by three artists, live musice between presentations, heavy hors d'oeuvres, one free drink ticket, admission to Saturday’s show, and first chance to buy artwork.

Here is your chance to purchase donor leaves for TLC's Stewardship Tree. The Stewardship Tree will be on display at the Starline Factory during the art show and you will be able to purchase different colored leaves in different amounts ($25 up to $500) to place on the tree for all to see. The proceeds will go toward the Stewardship Fund, to help preserve and restore TLC sites in McHenry County. The leaves are in limited quantities, so join the fun and get your leaf today!
