Norcross Wildlife Foundation Awards
Technology Grant To Land Conservancy

November 22, 2004

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County was recently awarded a $2100 grant from the Norcross Wildlife Foundation for purposes of upgrading computers and software, and purchasing a digital camera and Global Positioning System unit to help with monitoring and management of easements and donated land.

The technology upgrades will help the Land Conservancy to better meet the challenges of protecting land in McHenry County, by allowing us to document land location and condition data more accurately, and to better compare data from one year to the next.

The Land Conservancy currently holds 17 conservation easements and owns property at three locations, for a total of 270 acres in McHenry County.
