Common Ground Gathering
Are you a sustainable farmer looking for land? Are you a landowner interested in having someone grow good food on your land in ways that are good for the land and water? If you said yes, then please come to the Common Ground Gathering on the evening of Thursday, June 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Soulful Prairies, 4706 Alden Rd, Woodstock. You’ll have the chance to learn, to enjoy tasty food and drinks, and to network with farmers and landowners who might be the right fit for making your sustainable farming goals happen.
The event will begin with the chance to hear from Nick and Becky of Midnight Sun Farm and investor Tom Perry about how they worked together to get Nick and Becky access to the farm that was just what they were looking for. You’ll also hear from Kirsten Jurcek, a grazing educator who also shares her farmland with a farmer doing agroforestry. After that, you’ll have the chance to eat, drink beer from Scorched Earth Brewery and mingle on a renovated farm in the Woodstock area.
Let’s work together to grow our community of sustainable food farmers!
Register here, as a landowner OR farmer by June 1. Space is limited. $10 per person.
TLC is hosting this event in partnership with Liberty Prairie Foundation, Angelic Organics Learning Center, American Farmland Trust, Openlands, and U of I Extension.
